Metaview Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 March 2026

Metaview ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have. It covers multiple different relationships — please read the section that applies to you.

Data Controller

The Metaview entity responsible for your personal data depends on how you interact with us and where you are located:

  • If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Metaview Global Ltd (registered in England and Wales) is the data controller.
  • If you are located in the United States or elsewhere, Metaview Labs Inc (incorporated in Delaware) is the data controller.
  • For sourcing database candidates (see Section 2): Metaview Global Ltd is the data controller regardless of your location.

Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to two groups of people:

  • Website visitors, demo requesters, newsletter subscribers, job applicants, and B2B contacts: Section 1 covers you.
  • Candidates in our sourcing database: Section 2 is written specifically for you. Metaview acts as a data controller when it holds your professional profile data in its sourcing database — so this policy applies to you, even if you have never interacted with us directly.

Note: If your personal data is processed by Metaview on behalf of one of our customers — for example, if your application data is managed through an applicant tracking system connected to Metaview, or your interviews were recorded or transcribed using our platform — this policy does not apply to that processing. In those cases, your employer or the company you applied to or were contacted by is the data controller and we process your data strictly under their instructions in accordance with our data processing agreement. Please contact that company directly for information about how your data is handled.

Our services are designed for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16.

1. Website, Marketing, and Job Application Data

This section covers people who interact with Metaview directly — through our website, marketing communications, events, or job applications. If you are a candidate in our sourcing database who has never contacted us, please go to Section 2.

1.1 Information we collect

Information you provide: demo requests, newsletter or blog sign-ups, and contact forms (name, work email, company, job title, message); job applications (CV, contact details, employment history, and information you choose to share).

Information collected automatically: website usage data including IP address, browser type, device details, referral source, pages visited, and time on site; cookies and similar technologies.

B2B marketing and CRM data: business contact details (name, work email, job title, company, professional profile) that you provide to us directly — for example when booking a demo or attending an event — or that we obtain from trusted third-party providers for B2B marketing purposes.

Company-level insights: tools that identify which organisations (not individuals) visit our site, based on IP address, to help us understand interest in our services.

Anonymised or aggregated data: data generated from use of our services that has been stripped of identifiers. We may use this to improve our products, analyse trends, or benchmark performance.

1.2 How we use this information

We use this information to:

  • Provide and improve our website and services;
  • Respond to demo requests, inquiries, and support tickets;
  • Send newsletters, product updates, or marketing communications;
  • Process and evaluate job applications;
  • Contact prospective and existing business customers using CRM data;
  • Run analytics, measure website usage, and improve conversions;
  • Show relevant ads through retargeting platforms;
  • Meet legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.

We use cookies and similar technologies to make our site work properly (essential cookies), understand how visitors use the site (analytics cookies), and show relevant ads and measure campaigns (marketing cookies).

1.5 Who we share your data with

We share your information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate our website, analytics, communications, CRM, and recruiting tools;
  • Metaview group companies (UK and US entities) to run our business;
  • Advertising platforms where you have consented to marketing cookies;
  • Authorities if required by law or to protect our rights;
  • Business transferees if we merge, acquire, or sell part of our business.

1.6 International transfers

Metaview operates globally. Personal information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in countries other than your own.

1.7 How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Marketing and CRM data: until you unsubscribe, opt out, or request deletion.
  • Job applications: duration of recruitment process plus up to 24 months.
  • Website analytics: aggregated or anonymised after up to 12 months.

1.8 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, and to object to certain uses.

2. Candidates in Metaview's Sourcing Database

This section is for candidates whose professional profile appears in our sourcing database. Metaview operates an AI-powered candidate sourcing platform. As part of this service, we maintain a database of professional profiles sourced from licensed third-party data providers. If your professional profile appears in this database, Metaview Global Ltd is the data controller for that professional profile data — and this section explains your rights and how to exercise them.

2.1 Who we are (controller identity)

Metaview Global Ltd (registered in England and Wales) is the data controller for sourcing database processing.

2.2 What data we hold about you

Your profile in our sourcing database may include some or all of the following professional information:

  • Name and professional profile identifiers (such as public profile URLs);
  • Professional history — job titles, employers, dates, and work locations;
  • Education, qualifications, and certifications;
  • Location (city or region level — not precise address);
  • Skills, languages, and areas of expertise;
  • Publicly available professional profile information (such as summaries, headlines, posting activity and professional publications).

2.3 Where your data comes from

We do not collect your data directly from you. Your professional profile data is sourced from vetted, reputable third-party professional data providers — companies that compile and license professional profile information drawn from publicly available professional sources.

2.4 Why we process your data

We process your professional profile data to operate an AI-powered candidate sourcing platform that enables employer customers to identify potentially suitable candidates for professional employment roles.

2.5 Automated processing and AI matching

We use AI to match candidate profiles to employer specifications. No permanent score or ranking is attached to your profile outside of a specific search.

2.6 Who we share your data with

When an employer customer queries our platform and identifies you as a potentially relevant candidate, we share your professional profile with that employer. The employer then independently decides whether to contact you.

2.7 International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

2.8 How long we keep your data

We retain your professional profile in our sourcing database for as long as your profile remains current in our data provider's dataset. If you ask us to remove your profile, we will delete it from our active database.

2.9 Your rights

As a sourcing database candidate, you have the following rights under EU/UK GDPR:

Right What it means for you
Access (Art. 15) You can ask us to confirm whether we hold a profile about you, and to provide a copy of the data we hold.
Erasure / Suppression (Art. 17) You can ask us to delete your profile from our database.
Object (Art. 21) You can object to our processing on legitimate interests grounds at any time.
Correction (Art. 16) You can ask us to correct inaccurate information in your profile.
Restriction (Art. 18) You can ask us to restrict processing of your profile in certain circumstances.

3. US State and Other Regional Privacy Rights

Several US states have enacted comprehensive privacy laws. This section summarises key rights for residents of those states.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Other US states

Residents of other US states with applicable privacy legislation may have similar rights, including the right to access, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.

4. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption, access controls, and SOC 2 certified infrastructure — to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.

5. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or how we process personal data.

To exercise any of the rights described in this policy, please submit a request using our online form or contact us.
